Welcome to Oak Lake Community School

Oak Lake Community School (OLCS) is proud to serve as a true community hub, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where students are encouraged to reach their full potential. We are committed to helping students develop the lifelong skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.

At OLCS, learning goes beyond the classroom—students, staff, and the broader community come together to learn, build friendships, and enjoy shared experiences.

Located in the heart of Oak Lake, Manitoba—conveniently situated just off the Trans-Canada Highway between Virden and Brandon—our JK to Grade 8 school is home to approximately 120 students and offers a diverse range of programs designed to engage and inspire.

OAK LAKE CARE CENTER

Oak Lake Community Childcare: Growing With Our Community
Since opening its doors on September 29, 2014, Oak Lake Community Childcare (OLCC) has been dedicated to providing high-quality early learning and child care. Originally licensed for 4 infant, 16 preschool, and 15 school-age spaces, OLCC quickly became a trusted resource for local families.

In February 2023, the RM of Sifton was selected as one of 14 Manitoba municipalities to receive a new Ready-to-Move (RTM) child care centre. This opportunity led to a successful partnership between OLCC and the RM of Sifton, resulting in the creation of a new facility offering 74 additional licensed spaces—20 for infants and 54 for preschool-aged children.

Today, the new Care Centre is fully operational and continues our mission of supporting families with exceptional child care. The original OLCC building now operates as the School Age program and provides nursery and kindergarten readiness programming.

Together, both facilities offer a total of 105 licensed child care spaces to support the growing needs of families in the Oak Lake area.

The original Oak Lake CARE and Early Learning Centre is located on the grounds of Oak Lake Community School, steps away from its north entrance. This early learning and child care facility has four infant spaces, 16 pre-school spots, and provides before/after school care. Nursery school programming is also available two days per week.
